Hearts of Oak will open the resumption of the Ghana Premier League against new boys, Young Apostles at the Legon Stadium on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

The Phobians irked their supporters last weekend following their painful MTN FA Cup round 16 exit at the hands Division One club, Golden Kicks. Head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara has called for calm ahead of their week 23 encounter, describing every game as “important”.

“For any single match that Hearts of Oak we are playing is important. It’s important and we need everybody to mobilize, to bring his effort to contribute so we go far,” Aboubakar Ouattara told Hearts TV.

“This first match for the resumption of the league is very important. If you look at the position of everybody on the league, everything is important. “We have the people who are following us with one point, some with two points, we are also following somebody with one point.

“We need to focus, to concentrate on our objective to do well in the league and go far.”

The Ivorian tactician touched on their MTN FA Cup round 16 clash where they suffered elimination against First Division side, Golden Kicks. The loss ruffled the feathers of the Phobian supporters but Ouattara has urged the following to keep calm ahead of the remaining league matches.

“What I said after the FA Cup exit, it is unfortunate. Hearts of Oak is a big family and a great club in Africa,” Ouattara said. “When you mention Hearts of Oak’s name, Hearts of Oak are there. “If you don’t have the fans, whatever you do in the league, nobody will commend you.”

The record FA Cup holders sit fourth on the league table with 33 points, same as Heart of Lions after 19 games in the 2024/25 season.
