AS Maniema coach Papy Kimoto believes the hot weather in Kinshasa will help them to beat Raja Casablanca in their Group B fixture of the CAF Champions League on Saturday.

Maniema will host the Moroccan outfit at Stade des Martyrs. Maniema secured a 0-0 draw against Mamelodi Sundowns in their opening fixture and they will be seeking a win to stay on course to qualify from the group stage.

”Raja is a big team. We know their strengths and weaknesses,” Kimoto told the media ahead of the game. “Raja’s coach said he doesn’t know us but tomorrow (Saturday), the hot weather in Kinshasa will surely affect them and they’ll know us.”

While Maniema started with a draw, Raja, were stunned at home by FAR Rabat in a 2-0 defeat and now sit at the bottom of the group. Despite their recent struggles, the Moroccan giants are unbeaten in their last three away games and will rely on that form to reignite their campaign.

Both teams have struggled offensively, with all their recent goals coming after half-time. This encounter promises a test of resilience and finishing quality as the two sides aim to climb the group standings.
