Head coach of Texoma FC Adrian Forbes has expressed excitement over the signing of former Ghana international, Solomon Asante.
The United Soccer League Championship side announced the signing of Ghanaian forward Solomon Asante for the campaign. The 34-year-old joins the USL outfit for the 2025 season after seven years in the second tier of American football.
He is expected play a pivotal role at the expansion side and president of the club, Ben Watson expressed joy over the addition of the former Berekum Chelsea diminutive winger.
"Solomon is a special player and is an incredible announcement for any club," said Texoma President Ben Watson. "We are blessed to be welcoming a player that has won virtually every accolade across the USL."
"You look at the career he has had, the awards he has won throughout his USL career - I am incredibly excited to have him as a part of the team," added Texoma Head Coach Adrian Forbes.
"Besides being a goal scoring and attacking threat, he is a fantastic human being who will be looking to guide and mentor our younger attackers to follow in his footsteps."
Asante was two-times Player of the Year in the United Soccer League while playing for Phoenix Rising. He also played for Indy Eleven and Las Vegas Lights.
Asante has previously played for Burkina Faso outfit ASFA Yennenga and giants, TP Mazembe, a side he joined from Ghana club, Berekum Chesea in 2011, spending two seasons at the Lubumbashie based side.
He has played 21 times for Ghana’s senior national male team, the Black Stars after switching allegiance from fellow West African nation, Burkina Faso.
