Former Ghana international, Laryea Kingston cannot come to terms with the nation’s failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nation to be staged in Morocco later this year.

The senior national team under the guidance of head coach, Otto Addo failed to qualify for the tournament for the first time in 20 years following a dismal performance in the qualifying games.

Ghana finished at the bottom of Group F with three points after recording three draws and three defeats during the qualifiers.

Kingston, who once coached the U-17 national male team, the Black Starlets, says it is quite disappointing the Black Stars did not qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

“I am very disappointed that our beloved country Ghana did not qualify. One of the strongest countries in African football soccer will not be participating in the AFCON in Morocco and that is quite a disappointing moment for me,” he told Sporty FM.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars will now turn their attention to the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with games against Chad and Madagascar in March later this year.
