Chelsea striker, Nicolas Jackson says that, he knew he will be a good and a successful player even when he was very young.

Jackson cut his football teeth at local Senegal club, Casa Sports before transferring to Villarreal B in Spain. He spent a season on loan at Spanish second tier side, Mirandes before returning to cement his place in Villarreal’s senior side for two seasons.

The Gambian born Senegal international, joined the Blues from La Liga club, Villarreal in 2023 in an eight year deal worth £32 million. Jackson, 23, has so far scored 8 goals from 14 English Premier League matches, providing 3 assists under Italian manager, Enzo Maresca.

Born to a Gambian father and a Senegalese mother, the tough attacker stressed that he chose football from infancy and knew he will be successful at it. "I knew since I was young [that I will be successful in football] because I remember my dad asked me when I was young, maybe at age four, five, six or eight.

“We were young and he asked us what we wanted to do and I said a football player and I remember he said it is difficult. And then my brother said [he will do] business. It is not like something I got scared of being successful.

“I just said that I am good in this and I have to do it. I don't need to smoke, I don't need to drink. So just believe what I want to be.” Nicolas Jackson told YouTube channel, Greatest Sport.

Jackson was selected for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and the 2023 Africa in Ivory Coast by legend and then Teranga Lions coach, Aliou Cisse.
