Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids has cautioned his players and fans not to celebrate qualification yet following their 1-0 win against CS Sfaxien in their Caf Confederation Cup fixture away in Tunis.

In the match played at the Olympique Hammadi Agrebi Stadium in Tunis, Jean Charles Ahoua secured the win for the Wekundu wa Msimbazi to ensure they sealed a double over the struggling Tunisian side, whom they had beaten 2-1 in the reverse fixture staged in Tanzania.

Despite the win, the South African tactician has maintained it is not over yet for Simba as they have two matches to play to know their fate in the group.

“Simba is a big team in Africa, so every match we play to win. If we don’t win, then we don’t lose,” Davids said as quoted by the Guardian.

“I want to tell our fans that after this win, it’s not over. We still have two group matches to play, and we need to win to secure our qualification. We must stay united, and I believe we will perform well and advance to the next stage.”

He added: “This journey requires unity. With the quality we have, I am confident we will achieve our goal of qualifying for the next stage.”

The win enabled Simba to climb to second in Group A with nine points, the same as table leaders CS Constantine. Simba have managed three wins, registered no draw and suffered one defeat.

Simba will next take on Bravos do Maquis in Angola before winding up their group matches against CS Constantine at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on January 19.
