A strong start at Belgian Pro League side Standard de Liège for attacker Jean Thierry Lazare saw the Ivorian awarded with the club's Player of the Month for February.
Previously plastered to the bench at fellow Belgian top flight side Union Saint-Gilloise, the 26-year-old is adapting well to his new surroundings. After a brief substitute cameo for his debut against Dender at the end of January, Lazare came off the bench to score a crucial equalizer in stoppage time to earn his club a point in a 1-1 draw at Cercle Brugge.
With three matches remaining until the Belgian top flight divides into groups, Standard are three points behind Gent for 6th place and the final spot in the six-team championship group.
Lazare, acquired with a purchase option on his loan, has started the last two matches and is set to play an important role as the club attempt to rise into contention for a finish that will qualify them for UEFA club competition. Standard are in action again on Sunday when they host Anderlecht.
