Algeria Ligue 1 side JS Kabylie has completed the signing of Russian forward Ivan Ignatjev before the end of the transfer window. Ignatjev signs from Armenian top flight outfit FC Urartu.

The 26-year-old has a strong pedigree of playing in his native country as he turned out for Rubin Kazan and Lokomotiv Moscow, making over 100 Russian Premier League appearances in his career. JSK decided to reinforce their striking department before the deadline day. In the first half of the season, Walter Bwalya and Redouane Berkane could not live up to expectations causing the club to search for a new striker.

JSK coach Josef Zinnbauer played a key role in convincing Ignatjev to join the Tizi Ouzou based club. Both worked together at Lokomotiv Moscow where Zinnbauer spent a few months in charge in 2022.

Kabylie signed Ignatjev on undisclosed fee from FC Urartu. Ignatjev scored 13 league goals in 16 league games in Armenia, leaving as the top division's top scorer with Urartu currently sitting in second place.

JSK are fourth in the league with 25 points, three points shy of leaders MC Alger.
