Former Mamelodi Sundowns skipper Hlompho Kekana has advised Kaizer Chiefs to utilise a "Stoke City mentality" if they are to survive the challenge of facing Betway Premiership leaders Sundowns.

The former Bafana Bafana midfielder said this in a podcast previewing Saturday's game between Chiefs and Sundowns.

"If I was a coach I would go with a defensive mentality. I would go for Stoke City mentality---nine defenders and one striker," Kekana said.

However, fellow panelists Teko Modise and George Lebese suggested that it is impossible to stop the prolific attack of Sundowns: "I wouldn't want to be in the changing room of Kaizer Chiefs because who do you stop? [However], in the camp they know who to stop," Kekana said.

Chiefs lie in eighth place on the log table, 26 points behind Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso and his charges.
