Kaizer Chiefs have agreed to send midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane on loan to Richards Bay FC for the remainder of the 2024/25 season. Mdantsane, who joined Chiefs from Cape Town City at the start of last season, has yet to feature for the Soweto side this season.

The Natal Rich Boyz of Richards Bay will offer Mdantsane the needed game-time until June when he will return to Chiefs to fight for place in Nasreddine Nabi’s squad.

"Kaizer Chiefs have agreed to a loan deal that sees midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane join KwaZulu-Natal side, Richards Bay, for the remainder of the 2024/25 season," read a statement on the club's website.

"We wish ‘Mdu’ all the best as he embarks on this new chapter in his career. His journey at Natal Rich Boyz is sure to be an exciting one, and we look forward to his return to the Amakhosi family, ready to make a mark in the team." The 30-year-old had started the campaign with an injury but recovered towards the end of 2024. However, he was unable to work his way into the club’s plans under coach Nasreddine Nabi.

Richards Bay, who sit in 14th place five points above the relegation zone after 16 matches, will see Mdantsane's arrival as a timely boost as coach Ronnie Gabriel looks to avoid the drop after taking over the team from Brandon Truter in November.
