Kaizer Chiefs have signed midfielder Thabo Cele as well as attackers Tashreeq Morris and Glody Makabi Lilepo as coach Nasreddine Nabi seeks to revive the fortunes of the South African giants.

Morris joined Chiefs from fellow Betway Premiership side SuperSport United whereas compatriot Cele has come from Russian side Fakel Voronezh.  Congolese attacker Christian Saile has moved to SuperSport as part of the deal to acquire Morris.

The Congolese winger Lilepo was last on the books of French club Valenciennes FC before moving to the Soweto giants to pen a two-year contract. Chiefs brought in Lilepo from the French third tier side for fee reported to be in the region of €500,000.

The 27-year-old has a wealth of football experience in Africa having featured for top clubs such as Al Hilal in Sudan and AS Vita Club in his homeland. Lilepo scored five goals in ten matches for Al Hilal during their campaign in the the 2022-23 CAF Champions League.

On the other hand, the 28-year-old Cele has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Amakhosi which includes an option for an additional year.

“It’s been a long time coming for Thabo, and we are both glad that he’s finally here. We know his quality and we are looking forward to his contribution to the squad as we continue to build,” Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr said.
