Kaizer Chiefs have urged their fans to keep peace and order during Sunday’s Betway Premiership match against Sekhukhune United to avoid spoiling the conclusion of the Soweto giants’ 55th-anniversary celebrations.

Chiefs have made the call as they wind up the celebrations through the match against the in-form Sekhukhune at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

“The Amakhosi faithful are encouraged wear their Gold & Black colours as part of the Club’s 55th anniversary celebrations, and to please be on their best behaviour and not throw any objects on the pitch,” Chiefs’ statement reads.

Meanwhile, assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef will step in for his boss Nasreddine Nabi who was red-carded during the 1-0 loss to Golden Arrows last weekend after confronting a referee Olani Kwinda who eventually flashed a red card on the Tunisian.

Nabi is said to have been incensed by the referee’s failure to add more extra time beyond three minutes even in the face of Arrows’ time-wasting tactics. Consequently, Nabi will miss the next two league games, including against Orlando Pirates on February 1, 2025.

The Soweto giants have work cut out for them as they are up against Sekhukhune who are buoyed by 2-0 and 3-0 wins over AmaZulu and SuperSport United. Babina Noko, as Sekhukhune are also called, occupy third place in the log table whereas AmaKhosi sit in sixth slot.
