Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has remained positive by saying he does not mind Amakhosi fans criticizing him for the poor run of results in the Betway Premiership.
Nabi has endured criticism from disastsified Amakhosi supporters with a section of them calling for his resignation. After the 2-1 defeat against Stellenbosch FC in their last league assignment the fans took to social media to criticise Nabi’s style of football.
“We have to respect our fans and their feelings,” Nabi said as quoted by idiskitimes. “Because in every club when the results are not there, the fans are not happy, they are frustrated.
“Everyone has the right to say something, it’s our job to be realistic and to know what we want to do. The criticism is part of the football. You get criticised today, and tomorrow you can be the hero if you win, you do something very good.”
He continued: “That’s why you need to accept every criticism. I’ve worked in big clubs and I’m well aware of the pressure and everything that comes with a big fan base. But my job is to assess and to work towards the objective of the club.
“We believe our fans have the right to be frustrated when the results are not there. But we have to have understand as well, and to be careful [because] sometimes we might think it’s our fans and supporters but it’s the agenda of other people who don’t want the process to continue to succeed or the club to succeed.”
Chiefs are currently lying fifth on the league table with 18 points from 12 matches.
