Head coach of Dreams FC, Abdul Karim Zito, is relieved after his team climbed out of the Ghana Premier League relegation zone.

Dreams FC controversially clawed 1-0 victory over Accra Lions in a Week 16 clash of the ongoing 2024/25 league season last Sunday. The hard-fought win provided a much-needed boost to the team’s position on the table.

Coach Abdul Karim Zito who guided Dreams fc to the semi finals of last season’s CAF Confederation Cup, acknowledged the tactical challenge posed by Accra Lions but praised his team’s resilience.

“It wasn’t easy for us. Lions came with a tactical system to stop us from doing what we wanted to do. When you watch the first half, we should have scored about 3, 4, or 5 goals. The second half we were jittery. At the end of the day, I’m very happy that at least we will be able to lift ourselves out of the red zone,” Zito remarked.

“We have set a target that we should be able to achieve by the end of the league. I’m not saying we are going to win. It’s out of it, but there is a position we are targeting, and when we achieve it, it’s a plus to them,” Zito stated.

The victory has moved Dreams FC into 14th position on the league table with 16 points, a step away from relegation battle. The team now shifts focus to their next fixture against Legon Cities FC next week.
