TP Mazembe president Moise Katumbi has pleaded with the team’s fans to turn up in large numbers when the Congolese giants meet Yanga FC on Saturday in a CAF Champions League group stage game.
"Come and support and boost your players to victory. This is the moment; it is now that they need you," Katumbi told the club’s website.
The Mazembe supremo said the former continental champions must beat the Tanzanians to keep hopes of making the quarterfinals alive.
To encourage more fans to watch the game, the Congolese heavyweights have since reduced entry ticket prices by almost half to 3,000 FC for the open stands, 5,000 CF central stands, 10,000 CF grandstands and $15 for the VIP area.
Lamine Ndiaye’s side is smarting from an away 2-1 loss to Al Hilal of Sudan last weekend, hence he badly needs a win after having also dropped points at home in a goalless draw against MC Alger a fortnight ago.
Alger are in a buoyant mood after beating Yanga 2-0 last Saturday. Al Hilal lead Group A with six points followed by Ager’s four points and one for Mazembe whereas Yanga remain without a point.
