The Appeals Committee of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has upheld the decision of the FUFA Disciplinary Panel, dismissing KCCA FC’s appeal in a ruling that significantly impacts the Uganda Premier League title race.

KCCA FC had challenged the Disciplinary Panel’s decision regarding their match on January 7 against Mbarara City FC where KCCA were judged to have fielded an ineligible player. However, the Appeals Committee found no fault in the initial ruling.

As a result, the club’s appeal has been thrown out, affirming that the Lugogo-based side fielded an ineligible player, Gavin Kizito Mugweri, in their January 7 match against Mbarara City FC.

Consequently, KCCA FC forfeits the match with Mbarara City FC awarded three points and three goals.

The Appeals Committee reiterated that clubs bear the full responsibility of ensuring player eligibility, stressing that strict adherence to FUFA Competitions Rules is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the league.

With the ruling standing, KCCA FC remains in fourth place with 24 points as they shift focus to their next fixture against NEC FC on Thursday, February 13th, at the MTN Omondi Stadium.
