Zimbabwe national team star Khama Billiat has reminded his Warriors teammates that the country has many great players hence earning a call is always a privilege.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns winger said this in an interview with Zimbabwe Football Association media after touching down in South Africa where the Warriors will host Benin in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on March 20.

“I want to thank the nation and everyone supporting the national team for our call-up. We have a lot of great players and we are given the opportunity to represent our nation so we are grateful. Now, it is about how we will apply ourselves to represent our nation,” he said.

Ahead of the back-to-back games including against Nigeria on March 25, 2025, the former Kaizer Chiefs crowd puller said the Warriors would take one game at a time.

“We give everything and then shift the focus to the next game,” he added.

Billiat is among experienced players in the Warriors squad, which is also welcoming the return of Knowledge Musona two years after a previous retirement from the national side.

Other notable inclusions are Wolverhampton Wanderers’ new signing Marshall Munetsi alongside club mate Tawanda Chirewa, on loan at Huddersfield Town, Andy Rinomhota (Cardiff City) and Marvelous Nakamba (Luton Town).

The Warriors are in a group of death also comprising rivals South Africa, Rwanda, and Lesotho.
