It has truly been a sensational and career-best season for Zambia national team playmaker Kings Kangwa in Israel.

The 26-year-old former Buildcon FC player struck early as Hapoel Be'er Sheva continued their furious push for the title in the Israeli Premier League with a 3-1 home victory over Beitar Jerusalem on Monday. In the 19th minute, Guy Mizrahi's cross took a slight deflection into the path of Kangwa who finished for his 13th goal in all competitions this season. Two second half stoppage time goals confirmed a late victory for the hosts.

Six matches remain in the Championship Group stage contested by the top six sides from the first stage of the season. It is a two-horse race between Hapoel and defending champions Maccabi Tel Aviv who are level on 67 points.

Kangwa is surpassing all expectations after moving to Israeli football from Red Star Belgrade ahead of the ongoing season. With twelve league goals and eight assists, the Chipolopolo attacker has the most goal contributions of any foreign player in the league forming a dynamic attacking duo with Israeli forward Alon Turgeman.

The Camels will next travel to face Hapoel Haifa on Saturday before taking part in the semifinals of the State Cup against Hapoel Tel Aviv next Tuesday. Kangwa has now scored in two of his last three matches.
