Al Ahly head coach Marcel Koller spoke during the press conference following today's match against ENPPI and said that Ahly was the better side throughout the match. Al Ahly drew 0-0 against ENPPI in the seventh round of the Egyptian League (Nile League).
Koller added in statements reported by the official website of Al Ahly that the players did not deliver everything that had been prepared for before the match. Despite Al Ahly being the better team, they could have ended up with a negative result due to the penalty kick awarded to ENPPI.
The coach continued, "We did not implement what we trained for before the match but having ten players in front of the opponent's penalty area made the game much harder, which forced us to try to penetrate from the wings."
Koller concluded his statements by saying, "(Mohamed) El Shenawy was given a break to allow Mostafa Shobeir to gain match sharpness. As for Achraf Dari, his excellence in previous games does not diminish the roles of (Rami) Rabia and Yasser (Ibrahim) as we have outstanding players in this position (central defense)."
Al Ahly occupies third place in the Egyptian League (Nile League) standings with 12 points, two points behind the leaders and second place teams, Zamalek and Pyramids, with one game in hand.
