Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah has ruled out any form of fear or tension following the arrival of former club forward, Kwame Opoku.
Albert Amoah has found his groove in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season for the Porcupine Warriors. The former Great Olympics goal poacher scored a dying minute goal that sank rivals, Hearts of Oak in the week 13 derby at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
However, he is set to face a stiff competition from former Kotoko striker, Kwame Opoku, who arrived from failed stints in Algeria and Morocco. Amoah, who is a key member of the home based Black Stars is unfazed by the imminent competition.
”I am not afraid of competition. I do not fear his (Kwame Poku) arrival. At the end of the day, it is the team that benefits. If I do not score, he can score. So that is positive for us.” Amoah said.
Amoah has so far scored seven goals in his maiden season in 13 games for Asante Kotoko. Kwame Opoku, 27, scored six league goals in 2020-21 season for the Reds before he was transferred to USM Alger but has now returned to sign a two-and-half-year deal.
