Ghana international Lawrence Agyekum registered a goal and an assist for club side Cercle Brugge who drew 2-2 against KV Kortrijk on Sunday in Jupiler Pro League play.

Agyekum, who made his debut for the Black Stars in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, continued his fine form in the Belgian top flight. The former Red Bull Salzburg midfielder started the game and lasted 83 minutes before making way for compatriot Abu Francis.

On the matchday, K.V. Kortrijk took the lead after 14 minutes into the first half courtesy of a strike from Bram Lagae. That goal separated the two teams at halftime before Lawrence Agyekum’s heroics in the second half earned Cercle Brugge a point at the end of the match.

Agyekum found the back of the net in the 54th minute to restore parity to the match. Later in the 80th minute, the midfielder set up Thibo Somers to give Cercle Brugge a 2-1 lead.

However, late into the game Abdelkahar Kadri also equalised to save K.V. Kortrijk from a defeat.

The goal against K.V. Kortrijk on Sunday is the first for Lawrence Agyekum this season after playing 28 matches in the Belgian Pro League.
