Al Ahly SC of Benghazi continued their undefeated start to the 2024-25 Libyan Premier League season on Monday, establishing their dominance in Group 2 with a 1-0 victory over local rivals Al Hilal SC.
Mansour Rizq scored the only goal of the match just before halftime to move Ahly four points clear as group leaders, where the top three finishers will qualify for the championship stage. The only goal was scored just before halftime when Ugandan defender Richard Kassaga headed a corner kick service back across the six-yard box where fellow defender Rizq applied the finish.
Late last week, Al Akhdar remained perfect through five matches with a 2-1 victory at Al-Anwar. Last season's top scorer Ary Papel provided the winner in the second half soon after Anwar equalized from the penalty spot. Akhdar are five points clear at the top in a group that includes reigning champions Al Nasr who defeated Khaleej Sirte 2-0 to move into third place.

Malian striker Fily Traoré continued his excellent play for Asswehly in Group 3, scoring both goals in a 2-0 victory at Al Nahda. The former TP Mazembe marksman has 2 goals and 3 assists in four matches this seaon. Asswehly are one point back of group leaders Olympic Azzaweya, who won 2-1 at Al Bashaer thanks to a match winning assist from former ASEC Mimosas winger Aubin Kramo.
