Dodoma Jiji squad has been involved in a road accident in Nangurukuru area, Lindi province as they were coming from Ruangwa, where they played Namungo FC in a Mainland Premier League fixture on Sunday.
According to preliminary reports, the team bus lost its way and plunged into the river between Nangurukuru and Somanga and there are players and staff members, who have been injured.
Dodoma were heading to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to prepare for the 19th round game of the league against Simba SC that was scheduled for Saturday, February 15th at the KMC Complex Stadium in Kinondoni.
Against Namungo, the game ended in a 2-2 draw at Majaliwa Stadium. They are currently sitting eighth on the 16-team league table with 20 points from 18 matches.
They have secured five wins, five draws and suffered eight defeats.
