Three first half goals carried Dar es Salaam giants Simba SC to a routine victory over Tanzania Prisons in their latest Ligi Kuu Bara clash, moving the Reds back into top spot.
In form striker Jean Charles Ahoua put the hosts ahead just inside the half hour mark. A brilliant quick team movement created space for right back Shomari Kapombe to send in a low cross that found the late run of the Ivorian striker who made no mistake with his finish.
A double blow from Simba before halftime put them far beyond the reach of the visitors from Mbeya. Ahoua's strike partner Leonel Ateba received the ball at the edge of the Prisons penalty area with his back to goal and laid a pass over to Elie Mpanzu. The Congolese made a quick move to his left foot before firing past goalkeeper Samson Sebusebu.
Mpanzu's first goal since joining from AS Vita Club was probably enough to secure victory but first half stoppage time brought one more goal from the hosts. Kapombe produced an excellent first touch upon receiving a pass from Ateba and had plenty of time to pick out Ladaki Chasambi for one more goal to crush morale in the Prisons team.
Simba are now one point ahead of rivals Young Africans at the top of the table. The Reds are in action again on Saturday when they hosts Dodoma Jiji.
