In a shocking move, Tanzania Mainland Premier League champions Young Africans (Yanga SC) have parted ways with head coach Sead Ramovic and announced Miloud Hamdi as the new head coach with immediate effect.

The move to part ways with Ramovic came a few hours after the coach had addressed the media ahead of Yanga’s league fixture against KenGold at KMC Stadium on Wednesday.

In a statement, Yanga said: “The management of Yanga have reached an agreement with both sides to end the contract of coach Sead Ramovic and his assistant Mustafa Kodro.

“In another news, the club has announced the new coach, Miloud Hamdi, who is of Algerian descent. Hamdi, who has the experience of coaching, having handled teams in Europe, Asia and Africa, takes over the role immediately.”

Pan-Africa Football now understands that Ramovic, who failed to take Yanga to the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League this season, is headed to Algeria to take over as the head coach CR Belouizdad.

According to sources, the Algerian club tabled a huge offer to Ramovic, who will replace Abdelkader Amrani, who left the team on January 25th, and agreed to pay compensation for breaking the relationship with Yanga.

Yanga agreed to leave Ramovic and gave him all the blessings to join the Algerian club.

Yanga’s new coach Hamdi won the Premier League title in Algeria with USM Alger during the 2015-16 season. Until his appointment, Hamdi was the head coach of Singida Black Stars, whom he leaves sitting fourth on the league table with 33 points from 16 matches.
