Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids has explained what his side will have to do to haul maximum points from their Mainland Premier League fixture against Namungo FC at Majaliwa Stadium on Wednesday.

Speaking ahead of the game, Davids revealed why Namungo are a difficult side to face at the moment and further said facing former Simba coach James Mgunda, will make the game even more difficult.

“Our preparations have gone well, of course the match against Dodoma Jiji that was postponed gave us a little bit more time to prepare, and we also got the opportunity to give our players time to rest, we have prepared well and ready to face Namungo,” Davids told Pan-Africa Football.

“We know we will face a Namungo side with one of the best coaches and last time when we played against them they are a different side now, they have made great strides in improving their defence and attacking area so we must be very careful, be at our best to unlock them and score goals, because they are also very good at holding the ball.

“Our preparations revolved around how to attack and deny them space from scoring, in two three passes they can be in your box, they know how to move the ball quickly and very good at creating dangerous moments, so we have planned on how to attack them but also to stop the counter attacks.”

The South African coach concluded: “Our plan is to make sure that goals are available from all sides that is why you see even defenders Shomari Kapombe and Mohamed Hussein are involved in scoring and providing assists and the strikers also have their responsibilities but we do not want to put pressure on our players.”

Simba are lying second on the table with 47 points, five less rivals Young Africans (Yanga SC) though they are yet to play two matches.
