Tanzania Premier League Board have confirmed the postponement of Simba SC versus Dodoma Jiji Mainland Premier League fixture that was scheduled for February 15, Saturday, at KMC Stadium.

According to a statement from the board seen by Pan-Africa Football, 19th round fixture was postponed following the accident which involved Simba’s opponents Dodoma Jiji while returning from a league fixture on Monday.

“Tanzania Premier League Board has postponed match number 148 involving Simba and Dodoma Jiji that was planned for Saturday,” read part of the statement. “The reason for postponement is because most of Dodoma players and officials are nursing injuries from the accident that happened as they travelled from Ruangwa in Lindi.

“The accident forced Dodoma to halt their journey back to Dar es Salaam for the game against Simba and further denied the team’s technical bench time to prepare for the same game.”

Dodoma Jiji squad was involved in a road accident in Nangurukuru area, Lindi province as they were coming from Ruangwa, where they played Namungo FC in a league fixture on Sunday. The team bus lost its way and plunged into the river between Nangurukuru and Somanga and there were players and staff members, who got injured.

Against Namungo, the game ended in a 2-2 draw at Majaliwa Stadium. They are currently sitting eighth on the 16-team league table with 20 points from 18 matches.
