Young Africans (Yanga SC) head coach Miloud Hamdi has stressed the importance of their Mainland Premier League fixture against Singida Big Stars at Kwaraa Stadium on Monday.
The Citizens will head into the fixture seeking to stretch their lead at the top of the 16-team table with rivals Simba SC not in action following their involvement in the CAF Confederation Cup where they defeated Stellenbosch from South Africa 1-0 in the first leg of their semi-final clash on Sunday.
“We have prepared for the game the same way we prepare for every game because it is very important for Yanga, so we have to be ready and we are ready to make our fans happy again,” Hamdi told Pan-Africa Football.
“We must be very keen, win every match. Also, we have held technical meetings, watched videos and practiced technical exercises to better prepare. I tell you many times the star of the game is the system.
“If all players understand the system, we will win many matches. We have players, who are capable of making the system work but the first thing is to understand the system. So when a player is substituted or enters the field, he must know directly what he should do and what not to do, I understand my players, and believe we will continue to do well in every game.”
On injuries to the team, Hamdi said: “It's true we have some injured players like Aucho, Pacome is not yet ready, Musonda is feeling a little pain not major but we can’t risk him plus Azizi Ki is in chronic pain.
“I respect all players I am not a coach who complains that I don't have this or that one. I will give every player a chance. That's the only way we'll get to May strong, because every player will be given playing time. That is very important to me.”
Yanga are currently sitting top with 67 points, 10 more than Simba, while Singida Big Stars are 11th with 29 points from 26 outings.
