Young Africans continue to cruise in Tanzania's Ligi Kuu Bara after a seventh consecutive league victory on Thursday.

A strong first half performance sparked Yanga's 2-1 victory over local rivals Azam FC and it was Pacôme Zouzoua and Prince Dube who were the heroes. The two combined to give Yanga the lead in the 11th minute when Dube got free behind the Azam defense and rounded goalkeeper Zuberi Foba to cross for Zouzoua to apply a sliding finish.

It was a strong start that took some of the pressure of Yanga in a fiercely contested match. Zimbabwean striker Dube also added a goal of his own in the 33rd minute when a brilliant pass from Yahya Mudathir split the Azam defense and Dube calmly finished for his 12th goal of the season, level at the top of the scoring charts with Simba SC's Jean Charles Ahoua.

Azam managed to get a goal back late in the match but the first half deficit was too much to come back from. However, Azam remain in third place thanks to the efforts of Coastal Union who earned a massive home victory over Singida Black Stars by a 2-1 score.

Yanga are now ten points ahead of rivals Simba SC who have three games in hand due to their ongoing CAF Confederation Cup duties, where the Reds qualified for the semifinals on Wednesday.
