Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids has revealed his unhappeness despite the team dislodging rivals Young Africans (Yanga SC) from the top of the Mainland Premier League table.
The Wekundu wa Msimbazi roared back to the top following a convincing 3-0 win against Tanzania Prisons at KMC Stadium on Tuesday. The victory came after Yanga had dropped vital points in their 0-0 draw against JKT Tanzania on Monday.
Despite reclaiming the top spot, the South African coach admitted that he was not happy leading the league table with only one point.
“I am not happy leading the league by one point because the league is still long, leading the league with one point or being down by one point doesn't matter to me and if you think Yanga’s match will determine the championship this season no, any match can decide the championship this season,” Davids told Pan-Africa Football.
“I thank Simba fans for showing support to Ladack Chasambi and this is what we need, I know Simba Sports Club is more than a team but a family, our fans have shown true love how much they support their team and Chasambi.”
The win enabled Simba to reclaim top spot with 47 points from 18 matches, one more than Yanga, who have played the same number of matches.
