Young Africans (Yanga SC) head coach Sead Ramovic has revealed the team's desire is to dislodge rivals Simba SC and stay at the top of the Tanzanian Mainland Premier League.

The Citizens are currently sitting second on the league table with 39 points, one less the Wekundu wa Msimbazi. Ahead of their first match of the season's second half against Kagera Sugar at KMC Stadium on Saturday, Ramovic promised to topple Simba from the summit.

“Our main aim is to get three points, we are watching more of our matches and we have a responsibility to win every game to come back to the top, we know the quality of Kagera Sugar so we have a responsibility of playing at our best every day,” Ramovic told Pan-Africa Football.

“We know it will be a tough game so we have to play better and honestly we respect Kagera Sugar a lot, we know they will come well especially in defending themselves more so we have to use the opportunities we will create.”

Ramovic’s sentiments were echoed by defender Nickson Kibabage, who said: "On our side we have prepared well and every player knows the importance of the game, the most important thing is that we respect Kagera Sugar so much because they have a good team that brings competition to the league, they will come to show their best so we believe it will be a good game, citizens should expect good game from us.”

The left-back added: "We on our part want to go back to our higher position, so we will fulfill our responsibilities so that we win, I request the citizens to come and support us so that we can be happy together.”

While Yanga will face the Sugar Millers, their sworn rivals Simba will be up against Tabora United at Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium on Sunday.
