Young Africans (Yanga SC) coach Miloud Hamdi has admitted that he was not satisfied with the level of his team in the 2-1 Mainland Premier League win against Singida Black Stars, but what was important is the three points they managed to collect.

In the fixture at KMC Stadium, the reigning champions took a deserved lead in the 15th minute courtesy of Clement Mzize before Zimbabwean forward Prince Dube doubled their lead in the 45th minute for a 2-0 lead at the half-time break.

Singida looked the better side in the second period, dominating the champions and they managed to reduce the deficit in the stoppages through Jonathan Sowah.

“The players did all what they could to win the game, the second half they all looked very tired because we played in every three days, they spent too much energy before many games, and I don’t have anything to speak on the players, they did all they could, they gave everything and I am very happy we took three points,” Hamdi told Pan-Africa Football.

“The three points are very important, sometimes we can play very good game and lose but today we didn’t play good enough because I am not happy with how we played but we managed to take the three points, very important points.

“It is credit to my players because the most important thing was to take three points. Like I said, the players are very tired, but despite this, they gave everything, they wanted to win for the fans, we wanted to score three or five goals, but don’t forget Singida is a very good team, they have good players, and a good coach.”

The victory pushed Yanga to 52 points, five more than second-placed and rivals Simba SC, who will play Namungo FC on Wednesday.
