Tanzania Mainland Premier League holders Young Africans earned their second consecutive league victory on Thursday with a 3-2 result over Mashujaa at home.

Zimbabwean striker Prince Dube provided all three goals for hosts Yanga who never relinquished the lead after the 27-year-old opened the scoring in the 8th minute with an easy finish from a Pacôme Zouzoua cross. Dube doubled the lead in the 22nd minute with a header following a scramble in front of the Mashujaa goal.

Yanga have not been in their best form this season and Mashujaa made a strong push, pegging a goal back just before halftime when David Uromi's low long range effort snuck by Yanga goalkeeper Khomeiny Barwany. However, Dube restored the two-goal advantage early in the second half with another header after a cross from the left wing was allowed to bounce in the Mashujaa penalty area.

Poor goalkeeping from Yanga backup Khomeiny, given a domestic league match in place of regular starter Djigui Diarra, allowed Idris Stambuli's shot from distance to bounce in soon after the hour mark but the hosts held on for the victory.

Yanga are three points back of current league leaders Azam FC and one point behind rivals Simba. Both Simba and Yanga have played three less matches than Azam.
