Simba SC stretched their league winning streak to seven matches on Saturday afternoon with a decisive 5-2 victory at Kagera Sugar, moving to the top of the table and a point clear of nearest challengers Azam FC.

Experienced fullbacks Mohamed Hussein and Shomari Kapombe combined to give the visitors the lead before Simba's foreign contingent handled the rest. A brace arrived from Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala as well as goals from Jean Charles Ahoua and Fabrice Ngoma for the Reds who were never threatened by the hosts.

Simba took the lead in the 12th minute through right back Kapombe who arrived to finish from a Hussein cross for a rare goal. Kagera Sugar, who look set for a relegation battle this season, kept the match close until just before halftime when Ivorian forward Ahoua curled a free kick in off the crossbar and just over the goal line.

Ngoma and Mukwala both scored in the second half to extend the lead to four goals before Kagera Sugar finally responded towards the 80th minute. The matches continue to come rapidly for Simba who will return home for a clash with Tanzania Prisons on Tuesday.
