Neither Simba or Young Africans experienced any difficulties this week with a congested list of fixtures as Yanga joined their rivals in crushing weaker league opposition on Sunday. Timu Ya Wananchi cruised to a decisive 4-0 victory over relegation battlers Tanzania Prisons with three of Yanga's goals arriving in the first half.
It took less than fifteen minutes for the hosts to snatch the lead at the KMC Complex. Tanzania Prisons failed to clear after a pass interception and Prince Dube set up Clement Mzize to put Yanga ahead.
Yanga central defender Ibrahim Bacca doubled the lead just before halftime, arriving to finish after Stephane Aziz Ki's ambitious effort from a free kick went off the crossbar. Prince Dube added his fifth goal in three matches just before halftime to put the result beyond doubt.
Bacca added his second goal in the second half to complete a dominant victory. Young Africans keep pace with rivals Simba, remaining one point behind at the top of the table after the two titans of Dar es Salaam both moved beyond previous leaders Azam FC.
