Round 28 of France's Ligue 1 kicked off on Friday with Nice dealt a blow in their quest for a place in next season's UEFA Champions League after they lost 2-1 to Nantes. Tunisian international Ali Abdi was among the goal scorers while Nigeria national team winger Moses Simon contributed an assist.

Abdi equalized for Nice in the 14th minute after collecting a pass from Algerian national team player Hicham Boudaoui. But Nantes scored twice in the first half to take home three points. Nigerian attacker Moses Simon assisted for the Canaries as he played a key role in the victory.

Abdi now bagged 3 league goals since his arrival from Caen and continues to be among the best performing left backs in the French top flight. Simon has now reached nine assists and sixteen goal contributions in Ligue 1 this season.

Nice are fourth with 47 points, three points behind second placed Monaco. Nantes are 13th with 30 points.
