Ivorian international Evann Guessand managed to bag his 11th Ligue 1 goal of the 2024/25 season in OGC Nice's 1-1 draw against Auxerre from Round 26 of the French top flight. The 23-year-old striker is on fire as he reached double digit league goals in a season for the first time in his career.
Guessand headed home from inside the box after a corner was flicked on by Gaetan Laborde in the 37th minute. Nice failed to hold on to their slim lead as Auxerre salvaged a point in the dying moments of the game through Florian Aye.
Nice could have leveled on points with second placed Olympique de Marseille but they remain third with 47 points following the draw.
Guessand is Nice’s top scorer this season. He has also provided six assists. He was called by Ivory Coast coach Emerse Faé to represent the Elephants in their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifier matches against Burundi and Gambia.
