TP Mazembe continue to march on as group leaders in DR Congo's top division Linafoot (a.k.a. Ligue 1 ILLICOCASH) after a convincing 5-1 victory over Groupe Bazano in Group A.

The story was scoring goalkeepers. Towering Senegalese goalkeeper Alioune Badara Faty converted a penalty kick for the fifth time this season while Suleman Shaibu, a former goalkeeper converted to striker, also found the goal for the Ravens late on.

Dieubéni Ndongala and Gloire Mujaya were also among the scorers for TPM who are now six points clear at the top of their group with the next stage approaching. Second placed Lubumbashi rivals FC Saint-Éloi Lupopo could only manage a 1-1 draw against AS Simba on Tuesday which only increased Mazembe's lead.

Regardless, both Congolese giants are well on their way to qualifying for the championship stage while using their latest league matches as opportunities to consolidate their positions and test their squad depth. Mazembe are back in action on Sunday against Tshinkunku while Saint-Éloi Lupopo have a very winnable match against AS Malole.
