CA Talleres president Andrés Fassi has provided clarity on the growing speculation linking Argentine defender Lucas Suárez with a move to South Africa.
In an exclusive conversation with Pan-Africa Football, Fassi addressed the rumors surrounding the Argentine defender’s future by confirming interest from multiple clubs while shedding light on the player’s preferences.
“There are three clubs interested in Lucas! We will see what the player decides. He really likes the idea of South Africa, so we will see,” Fassi revealed exclusively to Pan-Africa Football.
Recent reports have suggested that South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns are set to secure the services of Suárez on loan this January. Suárez is 29 years old and previously represented Argentina’s U-20 national team in four appearances including at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Primarily a central defender who can also operate on the left flank, the 1.84m tall Argentine has made over 100 appearances at top level Argentine clubs including Talleres where he has been since 2022.
