On Saturday, the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) signed a two-year kit partnership worth R1.8 million ($90,000 USD) with sportswear manufacturer Admiral in Blantyre.
FAM President Fleetwood Haiya said the partnership will see Admiral supplying jerseys, tracksuits, caps, bags and golf shirts to all Malawi national football teams and replica jerseys for sale to fans.
“We unveil a product designed to instill confidence in our national teams—the Flames, the Scorchers, and all our junior national teams. We present a new identity to millions of Malawians who proudly associate with the beautiful colors of black, red, and green,” he told FAM media.
Admiral’s General Manager, Roger Livesey, pledged support to FAM in ensuring that the national teams are well dressed.
“We are excited to see the Flames and all Malawi national football teams putting on our unique and quality brand that will take Malawi to the heights of success. This partnership will enhance both the brand and FAM internationally,” he said.
Admiral has replaced Moto-branded jerseys produced through partnerships with Asian firms. FAM is the first football association in southern Africa to partner with Admiral as a technical sponsor.
