Outgoing Malawi champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have terminated the contract of first-choice left-back Precious Sambani following his latest disappearing antics.

In a statement, Bullets did not state the reasons behind the termination of the contract for the 27-year-old player who went AWOL last month for the second time.

“FCB Nyasa Big Bullets can confirm that Precious Sambani’s contract has been terminated with immediate effect. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours. The club will not make further comments regarding this decision,” the statement reads.

The former Namiwawa FC player started going AWOL after he was stripped of his captaincy armband at Bullets then found himself third on the starting pecking order behind Alick Lungu and Crispin Mapemba.

Sambani joined Bullets from cross-town rivals Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in 2019 and won four league titles with the People’s Team. The versatile player has been hunting for openings in foreign lands for many years. He underwent trials at Golden Arrows in South Africa a few years ago but was not successful.

The former youth international leaves the Blantyre-based giants in third place on the 16-team log table, 15 points behind champions-designate Silver Strikers, with two games to wind up the season.
