Malawi Super League club Nyasa Big Bullets have reinforced their squad with the arrival of two new signings ahead of the new season.
The first signing is defender Chikumbutso Henderson, who joined the People’s Team on a two-year-deal from Mzuzu City Hammers while the second signing is defender Blessing Joseph from Chitipa United on a three-year deal.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Bullets FC head coach Peter Mponda hinted that the team remains open to adding more players to its roster as preparations for the 2025 football season intensify.
"We still need to look around and identify players who can help us improve the team," Mponda said. "We are bringing in players to enhance the quality we already have."
Regarding Chikumbutso Henderson, Mponda commented, “Going forward, we are okay in terms of attack, but we have gaps in defense, which is why we sought to sign him.
"Henderson is a very good defender. I have been following his progress, and he has the height we need from a defender. He is also well-composed. Although there are areas that need improvement, we believe we will get what we are looking for in him.”
Mponda further emphasized the club's intention to assemble a squad capable of excelling in all competitions. Mponda said that these signings are just part of the process; as they are still working to bring in players who will strengthen the team further.
He added that while the squad has sufficient depth in the attacking department, the club remains open to reinforcing other areas as needed.
