FCB Nyasa Big Bullets continued with their perfect start to the TNM Super League season as they blasted aside Creck Sporting Club 4-1 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Wednesday to go top of the standings.

The result saw the 16-time champions building on their opening 1-0 win over defending champions Silver Strikers to go top on six points, joining Mighty Wanderers, Ekhaya FC, Moyale Barracks and Karonga United.

Midfielder Wongani Lungu put the hosts ahead with a 19th minute finish to spark life at the packed stadium much to the delight of coach Peter Mponda for the hosts.

One goal soon became two when Nigerian Babatunde Adepoju, scorer in the 1-0 win over holders Silver, netted the hosts second goal with five minutes to the break to complicate matters for Creck Sporting Club.

After restart, Bullets extended their lead through Chikumbutso Salima’s 50th-minute goal which dashed hopes of Joseph Kamwendo’s side coming back into the contest.

Five minutes later, scorer turned provider as Salima laid an inviting ball for Yamikani Mologeni to hammer the final nail on the coffin of the visitors from Lilongwe.

Kondwani Chilembwe pulled one back for the visitors two minutes into additional time but it was rather too little and too late for Kamwendo’s side who remain winless second week into the new season.

The two teams meet again in the Airtel Top 8 quarter final second leg after the first leg played at the same Blantyre venue ended goalless last week. Mponda’s side now welcome Songwe Border FC on April 20, 2025 while Creck Sporting Club date fellow Lilongwe opponents Blue Eagles on the same day.
