Tajong scored two minutes after coming off the bench for Misheck Botomani to hand Wanderers their first silverware on the last day of the 2024 season in Malawi.
The two teams had settled for a goalless draw in the first half before interim coach Bob Mpinganjira’s substitutions, including introducing his son Wisdom Mpinganjira for Francisco Madinga changed the game’s complexion.
Hammers had stunned FCB Nyasa Big Bullets 1-4 on post-match penalties in the semifinal to make it to the final while Wanderers saw off Panthers FC 3-0.
The final closed the curtain on the domestic season in Malawi.
