Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush scored what turned out to be the winner as Eintracht Frankfurt claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over a resilient St. Pauli in a Bundesliga fixture played at Millerntor-Stadion on Saturday.

After starting the first half on a high, Frankfurt broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute when Marmoush slotted home from close range. The Pharaoh had another chance to score a brace but his effort when wide in the 45th minute.

The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a transfer to Premier League Manchester City and in a recent Frankfurt CEO Markus Krosche confirmed that one club had already made contact to sign the player.

"One club has made contact. A club has expressed its interest. We hope that [Marmoush] stays,” Krosche said as quoted by Sky Sports.

Marmoush has played in every one of the team's 16 Bundesliga matches in 2024/25, having been selected in the starting XI in all 16. The attacker has netted 14 Bundesliga goals this season, which is tied for the second highest tally in the competition in 2024/25, whilst he also ranks joint first for Bundesliga assists this campaign having assisted seven goals for his team-mates.
