Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush, who plays for Manchester City, has been nominated for the Premier League Goal of the Month award for March. Marmoush's goal against Brighton in Matchweek 29 has been shortlisted for the award.
The match ended in a 2-2 draw, and his goal was one of the standout moments. The strike came after Marmoush received the ball outside the penalty area and fired a shot that hit the post before finding the net.
Goal of the Month nominees
Marmoush's goal is competing against the following nominees:
Marcus Tavernier (Spurs 2-2 AFC Bournemouth)
Marc Cucurella (Chelsea 1-0 Leicester City)
Declan Rice (Man Utd 1-1 Arsenal)
Pervis Estupiñán (Manchester City 2-2 Brighton)
Anthony Elanga (first goal) (Ipswich Town 2-4 Nottingham Forest)
Jens Cajuste (Ipswich 2-4 Nottingham Forest)
Bruno Fernandes (Leicester 0-3 Manchester United)
The winner will be determined through a combination of fan votes and expert panel selections to decide the Premier League's Goal of the Month for March.
So far this season, only one African player has won the award—Senegalese forward Nicolas Jackson of Chelsea, who claimed the prize for his goal in October. Marmoush now has the chance to become the second African player to secure the award this season.
