Following the match, head coach Patrice Beaumelle expressed his delight with the result in comments reported by Ennahar TV, stating, “I am very happy with this hard-earned victory.”
He continued: “It was a very tough and tricky match against Young Africans, a team that has been delivering strong performances in African competitions for years.”
Beaumelle also described their victory as deserved, saying: “Our win was well-deserved, considering our overall performance in this match. I dedicate this victory to all MC Alger supporters, who always stand by us.”
MCA are currently top of Group A following the result with four points from two matches while Young Africans remain without any points with their second defeat. Al-Hilal Omdurman are a point behind ahead MCA of Sunday's clash against TP Mazembe in Mauritania and can claim first place with a victory against the Congolese club.
