MC Alger want to make a return to Ali La Pointe Stadium. The Algerian Ligue 1 side hosted only two games in September 2024 at the recently built venue before the stadium closed for security reasons.
MC Alger are currently using the Stade du 5 Juillet 1962 for their league and CAF Champions League campaigns. According to Competition DZ, the club management and officials of main share holder Sonatrach visited the site of the Ali La Pointe Stadium as MC Alger prepares to change venue again.
Since October 2024 the 40,000 seater stadium has undergone a few renovations since it was inaugurated in early July by Algerian president Abdelmadjid Tebboune. MC Alger played against US Monastir and AC Paradou in the stadium before it was closed by the Algerian government. The decision to close the stadium was taken by the government in order to wrap up a few maintenance issues as well as security reasons.
The stadium was offered to the Algiers club by Algerian president Tebboune for their centenary celebration. MCA hopes the Ali la Pointe Stadium, based in the Algiers suburb of Douéra, will bring further success to the eight-time Algerian Ligue 1 and 1976 CAF Champions League winners.
