Medeama Sporting Club’s exit from the FA Cup sent shockwaves down the spine of their supporters, however head coach Ibrahim Tanko is confident ahead of the Ghana Premier League return.

The Mauve and Yellow will host Bechem United at the Tarkwa TnA Park on Sunday in week 23 after a four week break following a stabbing incident a month ago. A Kotoko fan, Francis Yaw Frimpong was stabbed to death in a week 19 fixture between Nsoatreman and Kotoko, forcing the league to go into a temporary halt.

The resumption of the top tier will see Medeama aim three points at the Hunters and head coach, Ibrahim Tanko is happy about the return of football. "We are very happy that football is coming back. We are happy football is coming back, and every week we will play football in Ghana,” Tanko said in a pre-match press conference.

Despite their disappointment in the MTN FA Cup where they suffered a round 16 elimination against Division One side, PAC Academy, coach Tanko is optimistic that his team will bounce back and make their fans happy.

"I think when you look at this week the way the boys trained and the way we worked, I have the hope that we are going to make the fans happy this weekend," he said.

The match between Medeama SC and Bechem United is scheduled for a 3 pm kick-off.
