Initial medical tests and diagnostic scans have confirmed that Mido Gaber, the star player of Al Masry SC, has sustained a fracture in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot. The injury occurred due to an ankle twist during the match between Al Masry and Black Bulls of Mozambique, which ended in a 1-1 draw in the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.

Dr. Mahmoud El-Shahat, the team's doctor, stated that Gaber will undergo further advanced medical tests upon his arrival in Cairo to determine the exact extent of the injury. Based on these results, an appropriate treatment and rehabilitation plan will be developed to ensure the player's swift return to team training. Gaber is enjoying the best form of his career with the 32-year-old attacker accumulating 12 goals and 6 assists in all competitions since joining ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Al Masry SC occupies second place in the Group D standings of the CAF Confederation Cup with four points, tied on points with Egypt's Zamalek at the top but separated by goal difference. Nigerian side Enyimba sits in third place with one point, while Mozambique's Black Bulls are in fourth, also with one point but a worse goal difference.
